Lockdown Mode on Android 15 functions by disabling all USB data transfer capabilities when the phone is charging in public places. This ensures that even if the device is connected to a charging station, only charging occurs without the risk of data being read or transferred.

Mishaal Rahman, a renowned Android expert, has tested the beta version of Android 15 and reported that Lockdown Mode effectively blocks various data transfer methods, including access to developer tools (ADB) and the use of external keyboards. "This is a significant step forward in mobile device security," Rahman stated in his report on Android Authority.

Although the risk of juice jacking is considered low, this feature provides additional peace of mind for users who frequently use public charging stations. For users who want to be even more secure, it is advisable to carry a portable charger or a charging cable that does not support data transfer.

However, it should be noted that not all devices running Android 15 will support Lockdown Mode, as some may have hardware limitations. Users are encouraged to check their device specifications beforehand.
